Jekyll Island Club, GA
Published in Paperback by Arcadia Tempus Publishing Group, Inc. (18 September, 1998)
Average review score:

Jekyll Island Club, Ga.A most compeling book about life on Jekyll Island. The author did his homework and provides you with interesting facts and clarification on previously misinterpreted information. The photos capture the true feeling of the times. A must read for those interested in history.

Kids in the Kitchen: A Cookbook of Yummy Foods That Kids Can Easily Prepare
Published in Paperback by Athenean Press (TN) (October, 2001)
Average review score:

Grandmother's GiftI grew up with the Betty Crocker children's cookbook. I think this one is better. I appreciate the fact that the recipes are grouped by skills, but doesn't quite "say" that certain recipes are for younger children. Kids can use this book based on the amount of energy they want to put into cooking something, and that's terrific. I bought this for my future grandchildren, and another woman in the office is buying one for herself and the parents of each of her seven grandchildren. Brilliant present, and a smart thing to have in your kitchen, I'd say.

Life Cycles
Published in Paperback by Princeton Univ Pr (03 April, 1995)
Average review score:

Nice BookNow this is a nice book. The life a biologist and the biology of life in a charming and compact 200 pages. Bonner's cellular slime molds are just facinating; I can't wait to get somewhere where there is soil (I live in the Atacama Desert in Northern Chile) so I can find some of these creatures and play with them. If you have any interest in biology or evolution, get youself a copy. It will make you smile. I promise.

Log Cabin Days
Published in Mass Market Paperback by Tyler-John Associates, Inc. (01 June, 1993)
Average review score:

Wonderful!Log Cabin Days is truely entertaining. This book brings you back to the "good old days". You feel as if you yourself are sitting in your own log cabin in the early days, laughing---and at times marveling at this great collection of folk stories. Ms. Tyler had true talent when it came to writing, she is sure to be thought of as an author to be treasured.

Love Is All Around: The Making of the Mary Tyler Moore Show
Published in Paperback by Doubleday (November, 1989)
Average review score:

Excellent fan bookThis book is a must for any fan of the show. Every episode is detailed and well-written. The author was nice enough to autograph my copy.

Mammals of Oklahoma
Published in Hardcover by Univ of Oklahoma Pr (Txt) (December, 1989)
Average review score:

Mammals of OK; more than just o.k.!This is the only work dedicated in whole to mammals in and around Oklahoma and the south central plains, and as such, it is an indispensible tool for my research as a grassland ecologist. Range maps for each species and references make this worth its weight in, uh, mammals!

Man Who Lost the War
Published in Paperback by Berkley Pub Group (February, 1981)
Average review score:

ExcellentThis is the finest cold war spy novel I have read, and I've read plenty. Had Mr. Tyler lived up to the promise of this book in his later novels we would be comparing LeCarre to him rather than the reverse. Top notch. I find it hard to believe more people haven't found this book. My copy is well worn.

Mini Owner's Survival Manual
Published in Hardcover by Motorbooks International (March, 1996)
Average review score:

** Buy It, Learn It, Love It, Live It **As a new owner of a straight-from-the-UK 1975 1000 model Mini, I was clueless about everything as to where to find the horn (answer: it's on the directional signal stick) to where the battery is housed (answer: in the trunk!). The owner's manual for this model is long-gone but this neat little book is a great stand in. As the label on the back of the book reads: IMPORTANT: DO NOT LEAVE HOME WITHOUT THIS BOOK.

Mirkwood (Middle-Earth Role Playing)
Published in Paperback by Iron Crown Enterprises (January, 1995)
Average review score:

Quality supplementThis book by Iron Crown is a quality addition to the middle earth roleplaying world - it combines excellent material with an easily understandable, logical presentation pattern. I personally find Mirkwood the most fascinating area of Middle Earth, and to be able to acts within it is great fun. Dwarf, elf or hobbit; no character should be without a bit of first hand experience under the portentious bowers of this ancient forest. If you only buy one supplement for the MERP game system, this should be it!

Monster Mazes (Usborne Maze Fun)
Published in Paperback by E D C Publications (March, 1994)
Average review score:

fun story running through wonderfully illustrated mazesA single story runs throughout this wonderful book, with the protagonists (you) making your way through a moster-infested mansion.
The story's narrative is intertwined with a description of how the puzzle-solver should do each maze (e.g., in one maze, you can't go past a monster with a red fork or a green tongue).
The mazes are neat and fun. But I definitely needed to do them with my 4 year old. He's done many mazes, but these were way beyond his capacity at this point.
